Love that creamy, cool sauce you get with gyros and other Greek dishes?  Tzatziki sauce is what your looking for.

The good news is that it is so easy to make and have in your refrigerator to add flavor and moisture to your favorite sandwiches or curries, or even use it as a dipping sauce for veggies!  YUM!  My CSA box this week from Johnson’s Backyard Garden included a few small cucumbers, so I had to make my favorite sauce with them!  I hope you enjoy 🙂

This sauce packs the flavor with a cool, refreshing bite, from the yogurt and cucumbers, and the bonus is… it’s healthy!  With Greek yogurt as the base, you can feel guilty free to pile on the tzatziki!  🙂

Tzatziki Sauce

Time: 10 mins Makes: 1 1/2 cups

-1-2 cucumbers, seeded & peeled, one small diced and one finely shredded

-3 garlic cloves, finely minced

-1 lemon, zested

-1/2 lemon, juiced

-1 cups Greek yoghurt

-2tbls fresh dill, chopped

-1tbls fresh chives, chopped

-Salt & pepper


Combine yogurt, cucumber, garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, dill, and chives.

Season with salt & pepper to taste.

Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
