The Boerne Epicure began as a small gourmet market, and has now expanded to include a small lunch operation providing sandwiches from 11-5 Monday – Saturday.  All seating is outdoors, weather must be factored in before choosing Epicure as a lunch option.

The menu consists of 10 fresh deli sliced sandwiches prepared to order, all with unique twists of jellies & sauces that can be purchased in the market.  All sandwiches are served with your choice of chips, but drinks are an additional price.  Epicure drink options are as gourmet as the drinks; there are no sodas, just teas, lemonades, and other organic juices.

I chose three of the ten sandwiches at Epicure; Viva Texas, Ciao Italia, and Tu Tu Tango.  Viva Texas was my personal favorite with peppered turkey and smoked gouda served on thin sourdough bread.  The Ciao Italia was also very tasty with salami, pepperoni, and mozzarella on a sub roll, but far too large of a portion for lunch for one.

The Tu Tu Tango on the other hand was beautiful, but may be one of the worst sandwiches I’ve ever tasted.  It was actually inedible to my  palate.  With creamy brie cheese, Granny Smith apples, and fresh spinach, I thought I would absolutely love it… but the spicey apple garlic jam that was lavishly slathered on both piecees of bread over powered every other flavor on the sandwich, which was very disappointing.
